COMPANY HISTORY

One particular invention - JarKey, the world's easiest jar opener - became the start of Brix Design and our brand BRIX. Five years later, the award-winning JarKey had become the world's best selling jar opener.

 

Brix Design exhibited at the Danish trade show Formland for the first time. JarKey won the prestigious Formland Award at the show.

 

JarKey won the Danish Design Index Award, and Brix Design exhibited at the International Housewares Show in Chicago and at the Ambiente Show in Frankfurt for the first time. We have exhibited there each year ever since.

 

Brix Design moved into its current headquarters on the harbor front in the town of Stege, Denmark. Being located on the waterfront in Stege is ideal for us. We live and work in a very creative environment, yet we are only 15 minutes from the main highway connecting Scandinavia with continental Europe, and only 1 hour from the busy Copenhagen airport.

 

Brix Design started distributing other brands. The award-winning American brand OXO was the first brand that we chose to distribute. We started selling this brand in Denmark only. Today we distribute OXO in 5 countries.

 

JarKey was selected as one of the Products of the Century by the US-based International Housewares Association. Interestingly enough, OXO’s famous Good Grips peeler also received this great honour.

 

Brix Design purchased the famous, award-wining Danish company Folle. Read more about the company Folle here

Brix Design received a AAA-credit rating from Dun & Bradstreet for the first time. This is the highest possible credit rating a company can receive. We have maintained it since then.

 

Brix Design received the Danish "Gazelle Award". This award is given to high-growth companies.

 

Brix Design again received the Danish "Gazelle Award". We were the only company in our part of Denmark to receive this award in both 2006 & 2007.
